Warm intros consistently lead
to high quality prospects...

but there's no infrastructure to capture and attribute them.
I designed a referrals system that seamlessly connects the three pieces of the puzzle: existing clients, prospects, and financial advisors.
01

01
Advisors opt in
RIAs enroll into Altruist's referrals program, allowing clients to initiate intros from their portals
02

02
Existing clients refer their friends
Add a message to personalize the intro, then send an email or copy a unique referral link to share.
03

03
Prospects reach out directly to advisors
Referred friends get a special UTM link that attributes their inbound to the client who referred them.
For some advisors, prospects may book a call immediately.
04

04
Advisors get notified
The dashboard self-selects for referrals and provides prospect context, allowing advisors to make informed intake decisions.
An opportunity like no other.
An opportunity like no other.
Shout out to Eddy Gutman, Mario Ayala, West Vegh, Mario Solorzano, Robert Manukyan, Daniel Haire, and Altruist design for entrusting me with referrals from end to end.
Also grateful to Sabrina Chung and Isaiah Zarco for making the office homey from Day 1 and my fellow Summer 2025 interns for being wonderful lunch buddies and pickleball partners — let's reunite soon!
Psst... happy to shed light into customer insights I relied on, constraints I solved for, and decisions I made over a call. Reach out for more details!
01
It takes a village
Designing for highly regulated industries means leaning on product, compliance, and customers for context.
As the sole designer on this 0 → 1 experience, I conducted advisor calls, cleared legal, and led scoping with engineering—all thanks to the team's guidance.
02
Advisors own the client relationship
Altruist facilitates the client introduction, but the advisor owns the relationship.
I made brand decisions that leveraged Altruist for credibility while ensuring advisor firm identity remained primary in visual and content design.
03
Measure for long-term value
Referrals encouraged me to think through how to measure for program success.
Beyond successful referral volume, we defined downstream metrics, including customer satisfaction, referred cohort AUM, and client intake efficiency gains.
